Our Working Groups

We currently organize our local work through three working groups. If interested, new members are welcome to join whichever group matches their interests and availability — or fill out our Get Involved form and we'll help you find the right fit.

Movement Building Working Group

Focuses on outreach, community events, and growing our local membership. This group does the work of bringing more people into the movement — through conversations, trainings, and public presence in the Eno River area.

National Campaigns & Mobilization Working Group

Connects our local members to SURJ's national campaigns and mobilizations. This group coordinates participation in national actions, electoral organizing, and advocacy — keeping our local work in step with the broader movement.

Partnerships Working Group

Builds and maintains relationships with local organizations, coalitions, and campaigns. This group is the bridge between our members and the work being led by organizations of color in Durham, Chatham, and Orange Counties — including our partners at Siembra NC.
